GENERAL• Clients are responsible for reading these terms before purchasing a commission. When buying a commission, purchasing a design I've made, etc, you're expected to have read and agreed to these terms.• When buying a commission from me, whether it be an illustration or character design, you're therefore purchasing my work and labor. I reserve the right to decline any commission request without further explanation.• I will not work with individuals with questionable online presences. Putting it bluntly, I will not work with people who identify as ""MAPS"" or ""Zoos"". These users will be added to my personal blacklist, and I will refuse service indefinitely, issuing a refund if necessary.I will refuse to work with individuals who are openly "MAGA". I am a strong believer in LQBTQ+ rights, will always be a supporter of the BLM movement, and believe Palestine should be free. As much as others may want to claim "politics shouldn't effect our art and communities", myself and the people I love are harmed actively everyday by hate peddled as a result of these mentalities. I will not work with people who actively vote against marginalized groups, it is non-negotiable.• Any form or referencing, tracing, or unauthorized redistribution of my work is prohibited.• My current turnaround time ranges from 2 weeks - 3 months. Some commissions may take longer if anything comes up.• I do my best to update clients on artwork, but you're always free to message me for an update! (I just ask you don't spam me daily with requests for updates.)

-IP Characters (Pokemon, My Little Pony, etc.)
-Canon characters
-OC x Canon
-Original species characters, open species, closed species, etc.
-Robotic, cybernetic, or mechanical characters.
-Disability and mobility aids
-Characters with props, clothing, or many accessories.
-Blood / gore, heavy to mild (Includes plush gore, fruit gore, tech gore, etc.)
-Adult themes (Marijuana use, alcohol consumption, etc.)
-Artistic nudity, suggestive nudity.
-Simple to medium detailed backgrounds and scenes.

Complex Design Fee:
Characters that feature intricate details, or scenes that require more effort and / or polish will include an additional charge.These include, but are not limited to:
-Design aspects with lots of detail (Detailed horns, large wings, multiple limbs, etc.)
-Robots, Mechs, or machinery with large amounts of precise detail or small parts.
-Intricately detailed outfits (Highly detailed jewelry, extensive accessories, patterns / textures on fabric, etc.)
-Pets, companions, or wildlife accompanying the character.
-Objects / props within the piece (Furniture, vehicles, etc.)
-Multiple character scenes, interactions, crowdsFeel free to ask me if I can draw your character! I may not be able to draw some complex characters, but I’m always open to taking a look at your design and letting you know.

★ I will not draw: ★I will not create art that goes against my core values, beliefs, and personal comfort.-Hate symbols, art that may be offensive in nature. I will refuse any request that has any association with racism, pedophilia, homophobia / transphobia, Nazism, or similar ideologies.
-NSFW / Fetish Art (While I do draw NSFW content, this is not available on commission.)
-Realistic-style art / illustrations.
-Realistic-style, painted, intricate shading.
-Imitations of other artists' styles.

COPYRIGHT• I retain copyrights to the art I make, allowing me to upload artwork onto my social media, display them in portfolios, etc.
✩ I do not accept private / anonymous commissions.
✩ I do not sell prints or merchandise of commissions or characters I do not own.• Ask about delayed posting! If a commissioned artwork is for a birthday, anniversary, etc, please let me know and I can refrain from posting it publicly until the date has passed.• Commercial licensing for artwork can be provided for an additional cost; please submit an inquiry if interested. Explicit permission is required prior to selling my artwork.• Bases, both free and paid, cannot be used for merchandise. Do not create pins, buttons, prints, etc. of artwork that is created using my lineart. This includes free products as well.• I do not consent to my artwork being used for NFTs (non-fungible tokens).• I do not consent to any of my artwork being used to train AI Image-Generative software or create AI generated images.CLIENT OBLIGATIONS• Communication for commissions will take place either on the website where the sale was facilitated (Kofi, Vgen, etc.) If you would like to establish, please let me know where I can reach you! I am available to communicate via Bluesky DMs, Email, Toyhou.se DMs, etc.• I do my best to reply to DMs and check them each day, but I ask you please be patient! I try my best to get back to messages within 72 hours of receiving it. I ask that clients respond to updates within at least 1 week to keep my queue moving, though I am very flexible and will always be patient!• Keep communication as professional as possible. I will not work with individuals who roleplay in chat, as it makes clear communication difficult and crosses a personal boundary. Do not use our communication lines to discuss traumatic events in depth.• If your social media account is de-actived, banned, or privated in a way that restricts our contact, you must establish a method of communication for us. There are a lot of different platforms and people use different usernames across them, so tracking people down is out of my scope.• If I cannot contact you, your commission will be completed as normal and I will forward you the completed files once contact is re-established.REFERENCES• When submitting existing character reference sheets, you must provide a digital, unshaded image. Scanned traditional art is acceptable, but I do ask you provide a digital color swatch or appropriate web colors / hex codes to work with.• Written-description references will be considered "Custom Design" commissions, as I will be creating the character design based on the descriptors. I will not accept written descriptions for illustrations.• Moodboards, stock images, or other media is accepted as reference material. I will not directly copy / reference another artists work. Additionally, I will refuse service to anyone who submits a reference that is created with generative AI, in all forms.• Please only submit references of characters you own, with the exception of purchasing gifts for friends or loved ones. Stolen characters or unauthorized use of OCs is prohibited.ARTWORK USAGE• Artwork can be uploaded on personal social media accounts for banners and profile photos, or reuploaded with a credit provided.
✩ Websites like Toyhou.se, Refsheet, or other character storage sites are authorized.• Ask beforehand if you intend on using commissioned artwork in your own visual media (Stream overlays, Youtube videos, etc.) I do not consider this to be commercial use, but it still requires permission and credit.• Clients may alter commissioned artwork so long as it remains appropriate. This includes things like editing markings, hairstyles, eye colors, or similar changes. Clients are also permitted to crop or print the artwork for personal use only. (This includes things like fursuit badges, personal prints for your home, etc.). Do not remove any signatures or watermarks if you can help it.• Do not alter images into disturbing or illegal material, or alter them to promote bigoted ideologies. Making NSFW edits of my artwork is prohibited.• Using AI to complete WIPs, alter my artwork, etc. will result in a permanent, non-negotiable blacklist.PAYMENT• I accept payments in USD, sales are typically facilitated through Kofi, Vgen, or Paypal.• Full payment is required upfront; I will not begin working until it is received.• I do not offer rush fees. This is due to a personal choice as deadlines are difficult for me to meet.• Complex characters or illustrations will incur an additional charge.• Looking to barter? I may be open to trades for commissions in return for the following items:

-Furbys (Any, I adore all models from 1998 - 2023, customs welcome!)
-Physical art (Custom figures, badges, etc.)• Refunds are available on request 30 days after the initial payment date, but for commissions over $65 I ask for a 3 day grace period to send the funds your way.• Refunds are only available if your commission has not been started. I will not provide refunds on in-progress commissions. I do not offer any refunds for completed pieces.ART PROCESS• Progress on the commission will begin once it is fully paid. I will send the artwork in stages: sketch, lineart, color, etc.
✩ Some commission types are excluded from this due to being artistic liberty, like mystery designs or YCHs.• Once an update is sent, I will pause progress until receiving the clients approval or revisions. Once the sketch is approved, a refund will become unavailable.• Please be as detailed as possible when requesting changes to your commission. Clients are encouraged to draw over and red-line WIPs if needed.• Clients may request additional WIPs at any time.• Once completed, the client will receive the full, high-quality image, all alternates, and a transparent version if applicable to the commission type. These all come in .png formats, or .gif format if the artwork requires it.• No physical item will be shipped to you unless specified.REVISION POLICY• I will do 3 free revisions to commissions during each phase of the commission. Additional cost will be determined based on how many alterations take place, and how much labor the changes require.• Once the artwork is complete, clients are entitled to 2 minor revisions that do not require reconstruction to the piece at no additional cost.• Major edits to completed pieces that are a result of insufficient information provided by the client will incur a fee; this will be determined on a case-by-case basis.• Mistakes made on my behalf (incorrect colors, markings, etc.) will be corrected at no extra cost.• Artwork that includes animation cannot be edited or revised after completion.• I will redraw a piece if the final product is unsatisfactory for the same price as the initial commission.

OWNERSHIP• All of my designs are sold under an Exclusive License agreement, granting the buyer to the sole right to use the copyrighted work (the character design.) This meaning anyone cannot use or license the work to anyone else without the exclusive license holder's permission, being the character's owner.• As the artist, I retain all copyrights to the design and to the original artwork of the character, allowing me to upload it to my social medias, portfolios, etc.• If there is a breach of contract, I will issue a blacklist and refuse further service. I will never revoke a design, or otherwise forcefully reclaim ownership.• All designs made by me (excluding those belonging to original species) are subject to my Terms of Service.• It is assumed the owners of my designs are private citizens who intend to use the characters for personal use. Owners may freely commission artists for artwork, items, etc. as the design is theirs and theirs only.• Owners are free to change the name, personality, gender, etc. of their characters at their discretion.• Please do not use my designs for nefarious purposes. I do not consent to designs I made being used to promote harmful content. There is a zero tolerance policy for racism, queerphobia, pedophilia, Nazism, or any similar ideology.COMMERCIAL USE• All designs made by me include automatic commercial rights, excluding those belonging to original, online species. (Please refer to the TOS for those species when considering commercial use for your character.)• Commercial rights do not include the original, first initial artwork of the character. Any artwork created by me is not to be listed for unauthorized sale.• I do not require residuals for creating the design of the character.• Commercial rights allows the owner to:
-Make the character a mascot of an account / brand / game / etc
-Make a V-Tuber, 3D model, Fursuit, ect. for use of streams, content creation, etc. where monetization and donations are accepted.
-Create new artwork of the design to sell prints, merchandise, etc. on their own storefronts, both digital and physical.• Credit for the design is especially required when using a design for Commercial use.FURSUIT MAKING
(Added 5/27/2025)• For fursuit makers, I do not require an additional fee when purchasing a design with the intention of creating a premade fursuit to sell.• I do not require a percentage of the fursuit sales revenue, as I firmly believe that the fursuit maker should be fully compensated for their craft. I have completed my contribution to creation (the design), and I consider the fursuit to be their contribution to creation.• My only requirement is that I am credited as the designer of the character on the initial sales post / listing. It is not required on subsequent posting of the completed costume, only the sales post / listing.• (And just for fun) please send me photos of fursuits made from my designs! I LOVE seeing critters I've made in the real world, it's always a joy to see them!CREDITS• Owners will not assume credit for designing the character. If the original artwork by myself (starbovnd) is displayed, a credit must be visible.✩ Designer / creator credits are required on Toyhou.se, Refsheet, or other character storage platforms.
✩ Optionally, a credit for the design should be provided on new reference sheets of the character, whether it be written on the image -or- in the image description.• If you own a fursuit or cosplay of a character I designed, you do not have to credit me as the creator of the character on every social media post. I just ask that when people ask who made the design, I am credited properly.• If the original artwork is modified or edited in any way, the editor must also be credited and their specific edits attributed to them.
✩Small edits like marking changes, hue shifts, etc are permitted.
✩ Large redraws or edits to the lineart / bulk of the image are prohibited.
✩ 3rd-Party NSFW edits of my artwork are prohibitedPAYMENT• Full payment must be made for the design within 48 hours of claiming it. If the payment isn't received, I reserve the right to put it back up for sale without notice.• All adoptable sales are final and cannot be refunded.• Refunds are not available for any completed custom designs. The client is responsible for requesting any changes to the design during the design phases.TRADING / SELLING• All of my designs, whether obtained via trade, sale, or gift, will always retain value. The owner can set the price at their own discretion.• Scalping designs will result in a permanent blacklist, barring the individual from purchasing designs directly from me.
(Ex: It would be considered scalping to purchase a design for $35 USD, and later resell it for $135 USD without adding additional value via extra artwork or media, digital or physical.)• You may not revoke or steal my designs from others. Once a design is traded, sold, or otherwise rehomed, it is out of your hands.• Co-Owning is allowed, but charging a fee for it is prohibited. Co-owns must remain free and mutually agreed upon.• I cannot be held responsible for scams. Be wary and ensure you're buying a design from it's owner, and not a 3rd party.REDESIGNS AND EDITS*If editing artwork created by me, please refer to the "CREDITS" section.• You're free to make design edits and change minor details. (For example, colour hue changes, slight marking edits, etc.)• Complete redesigns / overhauls are allowed so long as I retain credit for the original design and original artwork.• If the owner wishes to change the species of a design (I.E. changing a dog to a cat, or changing a character to / from an original species) please feel free to do so.• Owners do not need express permission from me to add any alternate forms, color palettes, etc.
